Chief Executive Officer

Paul Peterson, LCSW, has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Utah. With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, Paul founded The Counseling Center in 2007. Recognizing the need for specialized treatment, he focused on OCD and anxiety counseling after attending the International OCD Foundation Conference in 2008. He developed expertise in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) treatment, and gradually expanded his program with the help of graduate students and therapists. In 2015, he officially launched OCD Anxiety Centers, starting with a 6-client IOP program. Through dedication and collaboration, the centers now offer individualized therapy to a capacity of hundreds and counting. As the Chief Executive Officer, Paul’s mission is to provide treatment to all those suffering from Anxiety and OCD, while enjoying time with his children, building a pig pen palace, or tending to his peach farm.

Mark Hobbins is the past President of the Utah Ogden Mission. Prior to his service, He was President and COO of Discovery Behavioral Health the largest provider of eating disorder and behavioral health programs in the US. Mark is also the Chairman of the board of FamilyIQ.com, a leading online resource for parenting and relationship education. He has passionately pursued his mission of strengthening families for nearly 35 years.

Mark has served on several boards in the behavioral health industry including a member of the Colleague Panel for the Council on Accreditation, the Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Industry Council, National Association of Therapeutic Wilderness Camps and has been a consulting expert for numerous media organizations; including CBS, NBC, People Magazine, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, LA Times, and the NY times.

Mark Hobbins has made international TV appearances, including on “BRAT CAMP” and “Dr. Phil,” and has written extensively to enhance parenting skills. Mark loves the ocean and enjoys scuba diving, fishing, waterskiing and wake surfing in addition to golfing. Of course, Mark feels his greatest accomplishment is his 43-year marriage to the former Diane Sasine from Fullerton, ca. The Hobbins are the parents of seven children and twenty five grandchildren.

Kate Rogers, PhD

Director of Research and Outcomes

Dr. Kate Rogers is a licensed clinical psychologist and serves as the Director of Research and Outcomes at OCD Anxiety Centers. She received her doctoral training in clinical psychology at American University, where she received extensive training in the provision of evidence-based treatments for a wide variety of presenting concerns. During her doctoral training, Dr. Rogers developed specialties in the treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, and body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs).

Dr. Rogers has worked with OCD Anxiety Centers since 2016, and has held direct clinical roles in our Utah facilities, training roles, and quality assurance and compliance roles. In her current role as Director of Research and Outcomes, she collects and analyzes data to improve clinical outcomes, and ensures that OCD Anxiety Centers clients always receive the most up-to-date evidence-based interventions. Dr. Rogers also collaborates with universities and researchers across the country to publish peer-reviewed research, and to help close the gap between science and practice. 

In her free time, Dr. Rogers loves to hit the mountain bike trails with her husband and son, and play with her beloved dogs.
